This uncomplicated study of a Cézanne landscape has helped me see how I can create a landscape using both a limited colour palette and the mother colour method for mixing colours.
This limited colour palette is made up of these four colours:
- Burnt Sienna
- Raw Sienna
- Ultramarine Blue
- Titanium White.
I chose Ultramarine Blue as the mother colour. The mother colour is mixed with each of the other colours in varying amounts. This helps to produce colours that are harmonious when painted next to each other.
